New Zealand Prime Minister John Key appeared on national television last evening and lied to the nation about his GCSB spying bill which will “legalise” the collection of all our communications on behalf of American spy agencies . . . see here for the interview.

The Prime Minister said that the GCSB will not be collecting all our data — but, when challenged about New Zealand’s role in Five-Eyes and the collection of all our data, (that’s what they do), he refused to answer — waving a dismissive hand at questions about PRISM and X-KeyScore.

A former detective sergeant in charge of the Northland Organised Crime Unit has been charged with the supply of cannabis and methamphetamine which he took from a police exhibits locker, aka the evidence room.

While the courts will decide a verdict — every drug squad informant knows that police exchange drugs for information, it’s standard practise, nothing out of the ordinary, and a reasonable presumption can be made that, in this particular case, the detective must have pissed someone off to find himself in this predicament.

Regular readers of my Blog may remember that in 2007 I wrote to the Chief Justice of New Zealand, Dame Sian Elias, and confessed telling lies in court to obtain convictions against my targets while working as an undercover police officer and agent-provocateur for the Crown.

Following my interview on Campbell Live, TV3 News, police commenced a self-styled “independent” inquiry and asked for my cooperation.

I have fully cooperated with this inquiry — admitted criminal liability for my offending, stated I will plead guilty to any charges, and have also provided police with an evidential interview where I made a full and frank admission of these crimes.

So, what are the findings of this “independent” inquiry?

Good question — I don’t know — New Zealand police have refused my request for a copy of the report.

I’m not making this up:

So, I complained to the Ombudsman, who referred it to the Privacy Commissioner, who agreed with police . . . the findings will remain a secret.

Cover-up?

Readers may draw their own conclusions.

Right on cue, just days after their meta-data explanation was unmasked as yet another mega-lie (yes, they really are reading your emails, chat and TXT messages) the US Government issues an extraordinary global travel warning about the threat of an imminent Al-Qaeda “terrorist” attack and closes down 21 embassies across the Muslim world — nothing specific, of course, but with all the usual trigger words — “Muslim” and “terrorist” and “Middle East” and “Al-Qaeda” . . . gotta’ keep the people frightened.

There are cameras on our streets; in buildings and public places; buses, taxis and trains. Watching, recording, and storing. Our private communications are collected, assessed, and stored; and there’s data-sharing of our personal information between Government agencies — despite solemn promises they never would — and, lest we forget, the undercover agents, spooks, spies and other assorted agent-provocateurs who have infiltrated our communities; watching, recording, always watching . . .

Hard at work, the New Zealand Intelligence Community:

The New Zealand Intelligence Community (NZIC) is defined as the NZSIS, the GCSB, together with the National Assessments Bureau (NAB) and the Intelligence Co-ordination Group (ICG).

In addition, there are nine other intelligence entities within the police. Organised Crime Intelligence Unit, Financial Intelligence Unit, Strategic Intelligence Unit, National Bureau of Criminal Intelligence, Identity Intelligence Unit, Threat Assessment Unit, Police Terrorism Investigation and Intelligence Group and the Special Investigation Group.

But, wait, there’s more . . . there are also four other intelligence entities: the Domestic and External Security Group (DESG) within DPMC; the NZ Directorate of Defence Intelligence and Security (DDIS) and the Joint Geospatial Support Facility (JGSF), both within Defence; and the National Maritime Co-ordination Centre (NMCC), within Customs.
