I recently pictured New Zealand’s Justice Minister, Judith Collins, as the arse-end of Kiwi justice — seems others hold her in equally low regard. Here’s but one example . . .

● ‘Judith Collins’ staff censor Wiki articles on justice issues in NZ?’

July 06, 2013 — “I thought New Zealanders had freedom of speech. According to the Bill of Rights we do. But Judith Collins doesn’t seem to think so . . .”

“No matter who you are, no matter what greatness you’ve achieved in your life, or what gifts you’ve given to the rest of humanity, if you criticize Israel, you must expect to become persona non-grata. You should expect an utter onslaught of attacks.” ~  Susan Abulhawa

Rabid Zionists attacked our on-line freedoms this past week — their target Al Jazeera which had published an academic paper on Zionism by Joseph Massad, the Professor in Modern Arab Politics and Intellectual History at Columbia University, New York.

The article — “Last of the Semites” — disassembles Israel’s claim to represent Jews and reasons that Zionists and Israel lobbyists are anti-Semites.

Quelle horreur !!!

Publication created intense criticism from Zionist extremists and the article was deleted.

Here’s a transcript of the paper in full . . . continues

Facebook activists complaining their posts and images have been deleted or blocked — sound familiar? Facebook’s “terms and conditions” drove me away in September 2011 and I published a post at the time [Facebook Fail] outlining my reasons for switching to Google-Plus.

My Facebook account is seldom used . . . and, just today, yet another reminder why:

Someone shared my ANZAC Day post on Facebook. When their friends clicked on the Link they were confronted with a warning that my Site may be unsafe. I checked it out. Yep, there it was, a warning from Facebook plastered right across the top of my post: “Facebook thinks this Site may be unsafe,” it says.

Unsafe? — unsafe for what?? — our minds???

😀

“The security of the Nation is not at the ramparts alone. Security also lies in the value of our free institutions. A cantankerous press, an obstinate press, an ubiquitous press must be suffered by those in authority in order to preserve the even greater values of freedom of expression and the right of the people to know. These are troubled times. There is no greater safety valve for discontent and cynicism about the affairs of government than freedom of expression in any form.” ~ Judge Murray Gurfein | Pentagon Papers Case – June 1971

When members of US Government pressured companies such as Paypal to withdraw their services from Wikileaks they cut-off a lifeline which threatened to silence and shut down this Whistle Blower.

Here’s the workaround — Freedom Of The Press Foundation — a clever new initiative that enables crowd-source funding of many such organisations, thus returning power to us the people.

Here is a selection of Links, references and commentaries on this new initiative that I’ve posted to my Wall at Google-Plus:
