Idle No More began with four women ― Nina Wilson, Sylvia McAdam, Jessica Gordon and Sheelah McLean ― who, in early October 2012, felt the urgent need to act on current and upcoming Canadian legislation that not only affected their First Nations people but also the rest of Canada’s citizens, lands and waters.
